Founded in July, 2011, Specter Magazine publishes, among other things, new, previously-unpublished literary works (contemporary & experimental).
We feel the work we’ve published thus far best represents the type of submissions we want. Read them. Use them. Then submit. We accept poetry + prose (50-5000 words). All styles. All forms. All genres.
*Note: We assume if you're submitting work for publication, said work has been edited and revised multiple times. In other words, we assume your work is "ready for primetime." We will not accept revisions of submitted work; either it's ready for publication or it's not.*

Portraiture
Specter loves the visual narrative just as as we love the written narrative. Our first official foray into photography submissions begins with a call for portraiture. You may interpret "portraiture" in any way you'd like but each portrait must include a six-word memoir that adds a subtle literary grounding for your work. Specter was born from a sundry crew of outcasts who seek out other kindred spirits. In that vein, we desire work that disrupts/deepens/destroys/deconstructs the traditional boundaries of portraiture in either the subject matter or the style. All levels are encouraged to submit work.
All photographic processes are welcome.
Experiment as much as your heart desires, but remember to include a six word memoir.
